In another case of love at first sight, former U.S. Ski Team racer turned freeskier Zach Crist traded Sun Valley skier Clint Lightner a pair of brand-new Atomic 10.50 boots (worth about $500) for a ratty, ’70s-era Obermeyer vest with an airbrushed image of Wayne Wong on the back. “He’s one of my heroes,” says Crist. “That’s when skiing was pure. I’m working with Columbia to make a new line of orange and beige puffy vests, maybe with a picture of me this time.” Can’t wait.
