Nov. 8, 2001--Are you a teenager wanting to bust out new-school grabs and spins, but you have parents that freak every time you go off to the terrain park? The recipe to answer their fears and your need for air may have the same ingredient: Dan Egan's Big Air Vacation Camps. Adventure skier Dan Egan has teamed up with other new school legends to teach kids ten years and older the basics of the terrain park.
Teaching kids the right way to get air so they don't get hurt is crucial to the program. The goal of the one or two-day camps is for the participants to leave with better safety, balance, and performance. Dan Egan explains, "First we teach them what is a good jump and how to land it. We work on the skills they need to jump, be poised in the air and nail the landing. Off that foundation, we teach them tricks..."
The one and two-day camps will be held between Christmas and New Years at New England resorts. The camps include video analysis at the afternoon's post-training pizza party. One-day camps cost $99 and will be held at Wachusett, MA and Sunapee, NH. The two-day camps cost $189 and will be held at Okemo, VT and Loon, NH. Lift tickets are not included in the pricing.
Coaches include new school pros Mike Nick, Jeremy Gasowski, and Asia Magriby.
