Lake Placid, NY, Feb. 17, 2001–At the second stop of the Papa John’s Bumps & Jumps freestyle tour, U.S. Ski Team member Jeremy Bloom (Loveland, CO) took second behind Canadian Pierre-Alexander Rousseau in the moguls competition.

The event will be televised by NBC Feb. 24 at 2:00 p.m. EST.

Rousseau and Bloom were followed by Canadian Stephan Rochon in third place on the Wilderness Trail at WhitefaceMountain. Rousseau picked up $6,500 for the victory.

The second place finish, coupled with his third at the Steamboat, Colo. event, gave Bloom the lead on the tour going intothe finals at Heavenly, Calif. March 2-3.

U.S. Team skier Tony Basile (Olympic Valley, CA), who won the season-opener at Steamboat, had a disappointing day andwas ousted in the first round.

The Lake Placid Bumps & Jumps concludes Sunday night with the aerials competition. Belarus’ Dmitri Dashinski won theSteamboat aerials, while Canadian Steve Omischl was second and Joe Pack (Park City, UT) was third.
