Boston Kicks Off Ski Season in November

Waltham, MA, Aug. 6, 2004 – The red letter days for snowsports enthusiasts in New England are Nov. 5-7 (Connecticut) and Nov. 18-21 (Boston), the dates of the annual SnowSports Expos, taking place at The Hartford Civic Center and Boston’s Bayside Expo Center respectively.

In-the-know skiers and snowboarders will line up early for The Ski Market stores annual pre-season sale offering incredible savings on winter sports equipment and clothing at each locale. Participating ski resorts will offer a variety of Expo-only special offers on lift tickets, season passes and vacation packages and provide the latest information on winter vacation opportunities. SnowSports Expos showcase the excitement of winter in the mountains in a lively and entertaining atmosphere.

Expo admission is $10, children 12 and under are free, with $3 discount coupons available on-line at, where updated information about the Expo schedules will be posted regularly.

Hartford Expo hours: Friday, Nov. 5, 4 -10 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 6, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Boston Expo hours: Thursday, Nov. 18, 4-10 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 19, 4-10 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 20, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 21, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Expo producer BEWI Productions, Waltham, Mass., has staged hundreds of winter sports events around the country for over 30 years. Entertainment is a cornerstone of each Expo’s appeal to all ages, with ongoing contests, dramatic demonstrations by professional skiers and snowboarders, and a video theater featuring the latest in winter adventure films.

Wintersports celebrities, including Olympic ski and snowboard medalists, will bring their colorful stories to specially scheduled Expo presentations. The Action Park and Street Course has become a major attraction for youthful skateboarders, many of whom are also expert snowboarders. Look for special Learn-to-Ski and Ride offers and kids-only activities at the designated Kids Sno-Park learning centers and at individual booths throughout the Expo hall. Food services are available and the Expo Snow Sliders Saloon offers floor-weary adults a well-earned pub retreat.
