Canada, Nov. 19–The Canadian Ski Council announced that the Canadian Ski Museum has picked its inductees to the Hall of Fame for 1999. First on the list is Jean-Guy Brunet, a former Canadian Olympian in 1960 and 1964. More recently, Brunet has worked with the Canadian Ski Instructor’s Alliance and Southern Ontario ski team.
The next inductee is Alain Laroche, former member of Canada’s national freestyle team. Laroche won 43 medals between 1982 and 1990 (16 of which were gold) and was world champion five times in aerials, moguls and ballet.
The last inductee is Ron “Bucky” Richards, a competitor, official and developer in Canada’s ski jumping forum. Richards work on various jumping programs produced such greats as Horst Bulau, Steve Collins and Ron Richards, Jr.
