Colorado Posts Drop in Holiday Visits

Denver, CO Jan. 20--Colorado Ski Country USA(CSCUSA) announced today its resorts saw a 16.8 percent drop in visitsduring the new year's holiday period compared to the same period last year.According to CSCUSA President John Frew, poor snow conditions combined witha general unwillingness to travel during the Millennium period spelled adrop in visits to the association's 25 member resorts through December 31,1999. Despite the fact 440,166 fewer skier and snowboarder days wererecorded by that date, Frew says resorts expect a return to normal for theremainder of the season as January has yielded significant increases inboth snow and bookings.
