– When spring rolls around in Colorado, many residents face the agonizing decision of what to do with all the sunshine, open space, and snowy mountains. Weekends are torn between skiing, fishing, hiking or golfing. One solution is to attempt the challenge of the “Trifecta”, which is to participate in three outdoor activities on the same day.
Springtime in ski country brings the perfect opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to perfect the trifecta. Late season snow keeps the mountains calling while warmer temperatures entice skiers and snowboarders toward other favorite sports. This spring, guests are encouraged to load up the multi-purpose car rack and head for the hills to embark on their own Colorado Trifecta.
Speaking of perfection, in springtime the skiing and snowboarding in Colorado gets even better.
Spring skiing in Colorado means heading up to the mountains and strapping on skis or a board just as the snow starts to soften in the mid-morning sun. It’s about making great carves on fresh groomers, perfecting park games and pushing around late season powder. Spring skiing is about taking it easy, lounging in a lawn chair while enjoying a barbeque lunch, and then making a few more runs, tearing up the afternoon corn snow under bluebird skies.
Guests can enjoy spring conditions in ski country for at least six more weeks. Colorado is open for skiing and riding until early June with incredible events to rival the great snow all the way to closing day.
