COPPER MOUNTAIN, CO – (News Release) – Copper Base Camp is the place to enjoy the Rocky Mountains this summer. The past few weeks have seen a number of great events like The Copper Country Rodeo Series, 3 Ring weekend and The Copper Chase adrenaline-pumping adventure competition. Courage Classic, July 21 – 24
The long standing tradition of cycling for charity is alive and well at Copper Mountain with the return of The Courage Classic, July 21-24. Now in its 17th year, this three-day bicycle event benefits The Children’s Hospital and challenges cyclists with more than 150 miles of Colorado’s most scenic mountain byways and quiet backcountry roads. In addition, the weekend features the Friday Bike Bash, an outdoor movie under the stars and live music with 70’s legend Foghat.
Guitar Town, July 29-30
Guitar legends convene at Copper Mountain for Guitar Town, a weekend of top-notch entertainment celebrating that much-loved instrument. From shred to twang, Les Paul to Telecaster, fans will enjoy two days of free live performances by some of the world’s finest guitarists including the legendary Joe Satriani and venerable Tim Reynolds.
Also on tap are the Guitar Town Celebrity Guitar Auction and Jam, Hands on a Hard Body competition, the Guitars On Fire amateur talent competition, instrument sales, guitar expos, food vendors and more. Click here for complete line up.
Families and rodeo fans alike will enjoy watching professional bull riding, bareback and saddle bronc riding, trick roping and more while the cowboys vie for a spot in the series finals in September. The rodeo action takes place from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. July 15 and Aug. 26. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for children 13-and-under with a paying adult. The excitement culminates at the Copper Country Rodeo Series Finals, Sept. 1 and 2, during Copper Country weekend where only the worthiest cowboys go home with the title of Best in the West.
