Durango, CO – The 19th Annual Music in the Mountains Classical Chamber Concert Series is in full swing in and around Durango. Durango Mountain Resort will host 11 of the 25 concerts in the Festival Tent at the base of Purgatory Mountain during the three week classical concert series.
Highlights of the concerts held in the Festival Tent include “Hungarian Heat” featuring the works of Mendelssohn and Dohnanyi July 21; “Summer Dreams” featuring Balcom, Mozart and Lieberman July 26; and “Fire and Ice” featuring Dvorak, Beethoven, Strauss and Britten July 29. Most concerts begin at 5 and 7 pm.
Once again, the resort will host the fan-favorite Pop’s Night July 27. This year’s theme is Big Band Era and will have music from Jeff Solan Swing’n Big Band featuring Deb Barr. The evening’s festivities include a reception hosted by Durango Mountain Realty, a dinner from local fine cuisine restaurants and music from the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s.
