Balance and agility are key for skiing bumps, trees, and variable snow. To develop quick feet, do the grapevine. In this classic drill, you're essentially jogging sideways, crisscrossing your legs (alternating with the lead leg in front and then in back). Start by crossing right leg in front of left, take a step, then right leg behind left, continuing to crisscross for 20 steps. Then reverse it: Cross the left leg in front of the right, take a step, then left behind right. Move in a ready athletic position: hips low, knees and ankles flexed. Keep your hands out in front for balance.
