SNOWBIRD, UT — (News Release) - The 18th Annual Founders Title Company Folk & Bluegrass Festival returns to Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort Friday through Sunday, July 7-9.

"The festival is the premier summer folk and bluegrass event in Utah, said festival presenter Tony Polychronis. "We're looking forward to a weekend filled with excellent music in the beauty of Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Greg Brown headlines an acclaimed lineup of artists Saturday, July 8. With more than a dozen albums, Brown's songwriting has been praised by many and his insightful lyrics paint powerful and often deceptively simple images on a canvas of gospel, blues, country, rock and jazz. Other performers that have discovered the magic of his songwriting include Willie Nelson, Carlos Santana, Michael Johnson, Shawn Colvin and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

Additional artists performing Saturday include winner of the 2005 KRCL Songwriter Showcase Amy Speace, Cris Talley, Cold Creek, Cliff Eberhardt, Slipstream and Christine Lavin.

The Gibson Brothers anchor the Sunday, July 9, performances. After being named the Emerging Artist of the Year in 1998 by the International Bluegrass Music Association, the Gibson Brothers have earned widespread acclaim with their bluegrass style that is highlighted by outstanding harmony singing.

The Sunday lineup includes performances by Hammer Down, Stringdusters, Christine Kane and the Wilders.

The festival also includes open mic folk music, a band scramble, mandolin, banjo, guitar and fiddle contests and a singer/songwriter showcase, all of which are free and open to the public.

General admission tickets are $25/day for adults, $15/day for full-time students and seniors 65-plus and priority seating is $40/day. Tickets valid both Saturday and Sunday are $35 for adults, $25 for full-time students and seniors 65-plus and $60 for priority seating. Children under 12 are free with a paying adult.
