Vancouver, B.C., February 11–Intrawest announced itssecond quarter results today. Total company earnings before interest,taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 68 percent to $26.7million, compared with $15.9 million in the comparable period last year.Overall revenue increased 45 percent from 100.8 million in last year’ssecond quarter to $146.1 million in this year’s. Operating profit from skiand resort operations was $10.1 million, compared to $6.2 million for thesame quarter last year.Intrawest’s Mammoth Mountain, Calif. condo project led to real estaterevenue of $60.9 million for the second quarter compared to $37.6 millionlast year.Overall, skier visits for the second quarter were comparable to the secondquarter last year. Excellent early-season conditions in the PacificNorthwest offset the effects of warm weather in the east and Colorado. Tthebest-performing resort was Snowshoe, W.V., which benefitted from anabundance of natural snowfall.
