Vancouver, B.C., Feb. 17–Intrawest Corporation announced today it signed a letter of intent to build a luxury Four Seasons Hotel at the base of Blackcomb Mountain. The proposed 254-room resort property will be within walking distance of the Wizard Express quad and will be the first Four Seasons resort to be sold as condominiums and then managed by the hotel chain as a full-service hotel. Plans call for a full spa and health club, outdoor pool and 10,000 square feet of banquet and meeting rooms. It’s expected the partners in the venture will begin the planning stages of the project with Whistler municipal officials in the next few months with a target opening date of December 2002.
