VAIL, Colo. Oct. 10, 2002 American Airlines and Vail Resorts have teamed together for the second consecutive year to offer an exceptional deal to winter vacationing families from Dec. 1, 2002 through Feb. 14, 2003. Kids ages 12 and under fly free when accompanied by a paying adult from all cities served by American Airlines or American Eagle within the lower 48 states the Vail/Eagle County Airport (EGE). As part of this special winter package, kids 12 and under also ski and stay free at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge or Keystone resorts.
“Our resorts are the ideal setting for a family vacation and, for the second consecutive year, this promotion with American Airlines makes visiting our four world-class resorts more affordable than ever. A family of four, for example, can reduce their airfare and lift ticket costs by as much as 50 percent, which makes this deal the best in the ski industry,” said Martin White, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Vail Resorts.
Kids between the ages of 2 and 12 are eligible for a free companion ticket on American Airlines when accompanied by a paying adult (only one free child’s fare allowed per paying adult). American Airlines serves the Vail/Eagle County Airport (EGE), located just 30 minutes from Vail and Beaver Creek resorts, with non-stop jet service from Dallas, Chicago, Miami, Newark, New York’s La Guardia Airport, Los Angeles and San Francisco, with connections from virtually any major city across the U.S. Travel is valid to the Vail/Eagle Airport, Sunday through Friday, except for Dec. 19-26, 2002. Return travel is valid Sunday through Friday, except for Dec. 27, 2002 through Jan. 2, 2003. This offer does not include taxes and surcharges applied to each free child’s ticket. Other restrictions may apply.
Once at the resort, each child is eligible for one free lift ticket with every adult lift ticket purchased for up to seven days. Kids 12 and under also stay free in the same hotel or condominium with a paying adult (packages based on double occupancy). Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone lodging properties are all offering additional savings as part of the promotion. A sample package from Los Angeles, which includes airfare, four nights of lodging and four days of skiing at Vail, is $581 per adult in January and February. Other restrictions may apply.
