St. Anton, Austria (AP)–U.S. skier Caroline Lalive will miss the rest of the world championships with a bruised left knee.

Lalive skipped the slalom Wednesday night and team officials later said she would also miss the giant slalom Friday.

She is scheduled to flying home Saturday, team officials said.

Lalive, from Steamboat Springs, Colo., fell during slalom training and jammed her leg either against her ski or a slalom gate, also severely bruising her left knee. She was examined twice by the team doctor before being ruled out of the slalom.

This was Lalive’s fourth spill at the championships. She also crashed out of the super-G, downhill and combined events.
