Georgetown, CO - (News Release) - Loveland Ski Area received a wonderful Christmas gift Sunday, December 25, with the opening of the area's terrain park, LOVE Park, with five jumps, a quarter pipe and 11 rails and boxes. Thanks to the large amount of snowfall and excellent snowmaking conditions so far this season, this year's terrain park is the biggest and best Loveland has ever produced. The 2005-2006 LOVE Park has intermediate and expert features, covers the entire intermediate trail Roulette, and is accessed by chair six at the Loveland Basin.
"Each year we try to make our park better than the last, and this year I am confidant we have accomplished just that, said John Sellers, Marketing Director. "We have had several delays to the park opening, but it was an excellent Christmas surprise and I think people will find it was worth the wait.
The LOVE Park opening had multiple delays this season due in large part to the amount of early season snow the ski area has received. The excess snow forced grooming, safety, and trail maintenance resources to parts of the mountain that are not normally open until January, and increased the time it took to build the park.
Love Park will host several terrain park competitions throughout the season including rail jams and the Vert Alert series. For event information, a park overview, feature pictures, interactive maps, and park links visit Loveland's terrain park website at www.skiloveland.com/terrainpark.
