Loveland Ski Area To Open Chair 9 & The Ridge

Georgetown, CO – (News Release) – A winter storm that arrived at Loveland Ski Area Thanksgiving weekend parked itself over the Continental Divide and covered Loveland with 46 inches of new snow over an 11 day period.  So far this season Loveland Ski Area has received 140 inches of snow and is 50 inches above average for this time of year.  This early season snowfall has Loveland Ski Area poised to open Chair 9 on Saturday, December 10 (weather permitting).

“These early season storms have been absolutely amazing,” said John Sellers, Marketing Director.  “When you look at the mountain, it looks more like March than early December.  There are still plenty of powder stashes all over the mountain from the last storm and the terrain off Chair 9 has filled in with piles of fresh, untouched snow.”

Chair 9 brings skiers and riders to 12,700 feet high atop the Continental Divide where they can access 400 acres of terrain known as The Ridge.  Chair 9 offers stunning 360-degree views and an expanse of open bowls and steep chutes directly off the eastern side of the Continental Divide.  Weather conditions will dictate how much terrain is opened this weekend.
