Saint-Lary-Piau, France Jan. 11, 2002 (AP)–Olympic champion Jonny Moseley of the United States revived his season Friday by winning a World Cup moguls competition four weeks before the Winter Games.

World champion Kari Traa of Norway won the women’s event for her third victory in four races this season.

In recording his first World Cup victory this season, Moseley earned 27.28 points of a possible 30. Sweden’s Fredrik Fortkord was second, followed by Canada’s Ryan Johnson.

“I’m very happy with this performance, which allows me to keep a chance of qualifying for the Salt Lake City Games,” Moseley said.

Among the women, Traa finished with 27.42 points. Marina Cherkasova of Russia was second and Shannon Bahrke of the United States was third.
