Lake Tahoe, NV Nov. 04, 2003 — Mother Nature made an appearance in Lake Tahoe this past weekend and she meant business, dropping up to 16 inches of snow on Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe and paving the way for a November 7, opening date.
With the highest base elevation of any Lake Tahoe ski area, combined with recent snowmaking improvements and the possibility of additional strong storms late this week, Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe will start the season with an 8-10 inches packed powder base.
The Ponderosa Lift will be in operation this Friday and additional lifts and terrain will be added as soon as conditions permit. Mt. Rose’s Rental Shop will be open along with the Lodgepole Caf. The Ski School and the Rosebuds Children’s Center, as well as other facilities are expected to open later in the month.
For more information call the snowphone at 775-849-0704, 1-800-SKI-ROSE.
