– Mount Washington Resort new is pleased to announce the season opening of Mount Washington Resort's Mount Pleasant Golf Course on Saturday, May 10, 2008.
The 9-hole Mount Pleasant Course first opened in 1895, and has been host to generations of golfing enthusiasts from New Hampshire and beyond. Greats like U.S. Pro Golfer Gilbert Nicholls, Golf Course Designer Alex Findlay, British Golf Champions Harry Vardon and J.W. Taylor, and U.S. Open Golf Champion Willie Anderson have all played this historic par 35 course. The course was restored and upgraded in 1989 by Golf Course Architect Brian Silva with advice from world renowned golfers Gene Sarazen and Ken Venturi and now offers players a challenging round alongside the Ammonoosuc River with sensational views of The Mount Washington Hotel and the panorama of the Presidential Mountain Range.
Mount Washington Resort's signature 18-hole Mount Washington Course, designed by the legendary Donald Ross, is currently being restored to the original plans of 1915 by Brian Silva, and is scheduled to reopen for play on August 1, 2008.
Stay and Play Golf Packages are available, including lodging at the historic Mount Washington Hotel, 18 holes of golf with cart on the Mount Pleasant Course each day, breakfast each morning, and dinner nightly in the elegant Dining Room starting at $269 per person per night, based on double occupancy.
