Picabo 16th, Mendes, Clark 11-12 in Downhill

SNOWBASIN, Utah (Feb. 12) – After a cancellation and four postponements, the women’s downhill finally got underway Tuesday on the Wildflower course at Snowbasin. Jonna Mendes (Heavenly, Calif.) was the top U.S. finisher in 11th while France’s Carole Montillet was the surprise gold medal winner.

Kirsten Clark (Raymond, Maine) was just behind Mendes in 12th, while Picabo Street (Park City, Utah) was 16th and Caroline Lalive (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) did not finish.
