Killington, VT – (News Release) – Pico Mountain opens for the 2005-06 Ski and Snowboard Season on Friday, December 16th with five trails served by two lifts.

“We are looking forward to welcoming back our loyal Pico skiers and riders and seeing a few new faces, said George Potter, Pico Mountain general manager. “This year we continue to crystallize the identity of Pico Mountain by providing our staff new LL Bean uniforms sporting the Pico Mountain logo and colors.

New uniforms are one of the many additions guests will notice at Pico Mountain this season. Other improvements include snowmaking upgrades, a new lift drive motor for the Summit Express, additional grooming machines and a new audio system throughout the base lodge.

As an added benefit, Pico Mountain will be providing Pico Cards to anyone who donates $10 or more to the United Way from December 16th through 18th. Donations will be taken at the ticket window and guests will be able to receive a Pico Card discount and apply it to their first ticket purchase. With a Pico Card adults can ski or ride for just $29 and juniors, seniors and young adults ski or ride for only $19 every day except holidays.

“This is an outstanding way for guests to contribute to those less fortunate in the Rutland Region, said Rachel Webster, Pico Mountain marketing manager. “Purchased separately a Pico Card costs $49, and by making a donation of $10 or more, not only do you receive incredible discounts at Pico Mountain, but your donation is tax deductible.

Lift hours at Pico Mountain are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends and holidays. For updated mountain conditions, visit www.picomountain.com. Killington lift tickets are also valid at Pico Mountain.
