Killington, VT, Oct. 30, 2000–Forthe 40th straight year, Killington Resort became thefirst ski area in the East to open its doors to skiersand snowboarders when it ran a lift accessing twotrails on Killington Peak yesterday. It joined fourother U.S. resorts that are now open to skiing.

While Boreal, Calif., opened on October 11 andLoveleand Ski Area, Colo., opened some days later,Saturday marked the opening days for Keystone, Colo.,and Moose Mountain, Alaska. Breckenridge Ski Resort,Colo., which was to have opened on the weekend,reschedule its opening day for Wednesday. Additionalplanned openings scheduled for this week include AlpineMeadows, Calif.
