Really, Really Bored In Bismarck

Talk about having some spare time on your hands. On March 23, in an attempt to cure cabin fever (and practice spread eagles), 1,791 people in Bismarck, North Dakota, laid on the ground of the state capital and flapped their arms and legs to get into the Guinness Book of World Records for the most simultaneous snow angels.

“Everyone went down together after a big countdown,” says Deb Hellman of the State Historical Society of North Dakota, which sponsored the butt-drenching event. “Since there wasn’t a record for it previously, I doubt we’ll try again unless someone tries to beat ours.”
