Sugarbush, VT Dec. 1–Tom Richardson has resigned his position as managing director of Sugarbush effective immediately. While management at American Skiing Company looks for a replacement, David Dillon, VP, sales and marketing; Ed Read, VP, mountain operations; and Susan Flynn, VP, comptroller will handle day-to-day operations.

“I’m very excited about taking some time off and going skiing,” Richardson told SAM. “After 16 years in the industry, it’s time for a change.” As for the future, Richardson has no immediate plans. “If something comes up in the industry that looks interesting, who knows.”

Richardson also serves on the Vermont Ski Areas Association board and is chairman of the Economic committee for the National Ski Areas Association, where he hopes to still be active.
