Rothrock 3rd in Europa Cup SL

Wildschoeneau, Austria, Feb. 21, 2001--Tom Rothrock (Cashmere, WA), who had a victory and asecond-place finish earlier this month, solidified his standing as the No. 2 slalom skier on theEuropa Cup circuit this season Tuesday, finishing third in another Europa Cup slalom.

Mitja Dragsic of Slovenia won the race with a time of 1:29.85, just .07 ahad of Norway's Truls OveKarlsen runnerup in 1:29.92.

Rothrock finished in 1:30.05. Chip Knight (New Canaan, CT), who was 10th last week in a GS inRavascletto, Italy, was 10th in Wildschoenau with a time of 1:31.09.

As the season heads into its final stages, Manfred Praenger of Austria leads the slalom standingswith 505 points and Rothrock is second at 366. Karlsen is third with 250.
