Shooting the World: India

“We chose a slow and authentic approach to Himachal Pradesh: mules, Sherpas, basic base camps and a good deal of time spent on the sides of large mountains like Deo Tibba and Anuman Tibba. A weather pattern emerged-beautiful mornings and nights, and afternoon snow. We started a military rhythm to get up with the dawn, and sometimes climbed 5,000 feet. There were lines for everyone, and no need to argue in deciding who got what: We played rock, paper, scissors in the morning cold.”
