SIRIUS Satellite Radio to cover World Cup this weekend


NEW YORK — January 17, 2008 — SIRIUS Satellite Radio will offer comprehensive coverage of this weekend's World Cup alpine ski races in Kitzbuehel, Austria and Cortina, Italy, featuring the world's best men and women skiers competing in the Super-G, Downhill and Slalom events.

As a special lead-in to this weekend's race broadcasts, SIRIUS will air the exclusive pre-race program, In the Starting Gate, featuring two-time Olympian Doug Lewis and his wife, Kelley, a former World Cup Downhill racer, previewing the races and interviewing two of the world's greatest skiers - five-time World Cup Downhill champion and 1976 Olympic gold medalist Franz Klammer and Daron Rahlves, one of America's most celebrated skiing champions.

SIRIUS, together with World Championship Sports Network (WCSN), provides exclusive satellite radio coverage of international alpine skiing events each week during the 2007-08 FIS World Cup ski season on SIRIUS channel 127.
