Squaw Hosts Reno Tahoe Freeheel Open

February 28, 2006

Olympic Valley, CA - (News Release) - Calling all Freeheelers! Have you ever wondered when there would be a freestyle skiing competition for you? Worry not, my tele friends, there are 2 events exclusively for freeheel jibbers and jumpers. On Friday March 3, 2006 Squaw Valley USA will be hosting the freestyle competition for the Reno Tahoe Freeheel Open.

On Friday from 11-1 pm there will be a Big Air competition in Squaw Valley's Mainline Park. This is your opportunity to show fellow snow sport enthusiasts that freeheelers can spin and grab too. Ski down to the base of the mountain for a Rail Jam from 3-5 pm and show off you freeheel jibbing talent. The scores from the two competitions will be weighted equally and added together to give us a freestyle champion.

All the industry reps will be at the base of Squaw all day long ready to set you up and cut you loose with the latest gear out there. So, whether you want to dial in your set up for next season or just give freeheeling a try, March 3 is your day!

Don't think for one moment that Squaw would welcome the Reno Tahoe Freeheel Open without a party. Come celebrate keeping your heels free with an award ceremony at 7:30 pm at Plaza Bar. Later on that evening make Olympic House your after-party oyster with three different parties going on: DJ Step Daddy & Chubby Reign at Zenbu, the Boogie Monsters at Plaza Bar, and Space Cowboys at Bar One. You must be 21 or older to join in these evening festivities but don't worry about the cover because entrance to all bars is free!

Sponsors for the Reno Tahoe Freeheel Open include: Karhu, Clif Bar, Tough Guy Productions, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw Valley USA. To register for the competition or to find out more about the Reno Tahoe Freeheel Open go to www.ToughGuyProductions.com and remember—helmets and health insurance are required for all competitors.
