Squaw Valley USA
– The Association of Professional Patrollers (APP) proudly presents famed Yosemite climbing pioneer, writer, and adventurer Royal Robbins. “Out of Camp IV,” a presentation by Royal Robbins is taking place Tuesday, April 29th at 7 pm at the Olympic Village Lodge (OVL) in Squaw Valley USA.
Royal Robbins was one of the early pioneers of American rock climbing. Learning his skill at Tahquitz he moved on to put up many of the early Yosemite routes. A prolific writer, Robbins has written numerous books and influential magazine articles emphasizing a philosophy of minimal climbing equipment and maximum climbing skill. He, along with Yvon Chouinard and others, was instrumental in changing the climbing culture of the late 1960s and early 1970s to minimize overall human impact on the vertical wilderness.
Royal Robbins’ “Out of Camp IV” presentation begins at 7 pm and doors open at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $10 at the door (free for APP Members). For more information visit
