Squaw Valley kicks off 'Spring Magic'

Squaw Valley, CA, Mar. 1 2004 - Squaw Valley USA kicks off the start of the spring skiing season with the opening of the High Camp Swimming Lagoon & Spa on Saturday, March 20, 2004. The high altitude pool and jacuzzi offers skiers and snowboarders a one-of-a-kind mountain experience, combining a great day on the slopes with a dip in a mountaintop swimming pool and a soak in a giant slopeside jacuzzi.

Located at High Camp (8200'), the free-form swimming lagoon is heated to approximately eighty degrees and contains two twenty-five meter lap lanes. The twenty-five foot diameter spa is heated to a soothing 103 degrees and surrounded by expansive decks and a casual umbrella bar. Squaw Valley's High Camp also offers an Olympic-size ice-skating pavilion, a 1960 Olympic Winter Games Museum and a variety of restaurants and bars to feed every appetite and quench every thirst.

'Spring Magic', ten weeks of fun and festivities, continues through May with a long list of fun events including the three-pinning action of the 2nd Annual Squaw Valley Freeheel Festival on March 27-28, the spectacular tricks and terrain park antics of Spring Jam VII on April 8-10, plus the endurance-testing Billy Dutton Uphill and recycled Village Push, Pull or Pedal Eco-Parade on April 10. The High Camp Tiki-a-Go Go Pool Party & Luau hulas through High Camp on May 1, followed by the hilarity of the annual Lake Cushing Pond Crossing on May 8 (weather permitting). The golf clubs come out on May 9th for the Spring Schwing Snow Golf Tournament. 'Spring Magic' comes to a close on May 30th with an end of the season pool party at High Camp.
