Steamboat Invokes Snow's Supreme

Steamboat Springs, CO, Nov. 14, 2001--On November 18, 2001, Steamboat locals will start a new tradition in the ski resort life of Colorado as they host the first annual Pray for Snowfest.

The Pray for Snowfest will be an evening of prize giveaways and live entertainment performed by East Coast prodigy Robert Randolph and his Family band. At 10:30pm pedal steel guitar virtuoso Robert Randolph and his Family band will take the stage and ignite the crowd with their the hot driving sounds of rock and blues. After a summer tour playing with John Medeski and the North Mississippi Allstars (promoting their new album The Word), Randolph now takes his family band on the road to Colorado for the first time. The band will be blowing the crowds away at The Fox (Boulder), The Gothic (Denver), The Aggie (Ft. Collins), and Levelz (Steamboat Springs).

"I can't think of a better Pray for Snow act then Robert Randolph. This guy comes straight from the gospel church. He knows how to rock the crowd and get people movin'. And this Pray for Snowfest is a new movement - for us snow-freaks. We need to gather together and give thanks and give praise to the snow gods. And, you know what? The snow will fall," says Steamboat concert promoter Keri Hirsch.

The Pray for Snowfest will fill-up early because of the large list of prizes, most of which will be given away between 10:00pm and 10:30pm. Bigger prizes (a new snowboard, snowshoes, and skis) will be raffled off around mid-night. The Pray for Snowfest is at Levelz nightclub Sunday Night November 18, 9pm. Tickets are only $10 and available at All that Jazz, in Steamboat. For more information, please email
