Sunsation 2005 Begins At Copper

Copper Mountain, CO – Copper Mountain officials have announced the musical line-up for Sunsation 2005. Sunsation, Copper’s end-of-season blow out bash, has grown to a three weekend, six-day event with free concerts, on-hill events including the infamous Eenie Weenie Bikini Contest, barbecues, beer gardens and more. Sunsation is the perfect excuse to enjoy spring skiing at Copper and kick back and listen to great music by local and national artists.

Sunsation officially kicks off April 2 featuring DJ Relm, Tony C and the Truth and headliner Rose Hill Drive. April 3 will include DJ Relm and Clumsy Lovers, as well as Chronophonic and Mama’s Cookin. April 9-10 will bring back the 80s with D.O.R.K, Quiet Riot and Blue Oyster Cult on April 9, followed by Ben Park Drive and The Smithereens on April 10. The final weekend will feature the Eric McFadden Trio, Roger Clyne, Vernon Reid & The Masque and the Victor Wooten Band on April 16. On April 17, The Motet, as well as Michael Franti with Spearhead will heat up the stage and melt the snow on the last day of Copper’s winter season.

The events will take place outside in Burning Stones Plaza and all performances will be free to the public. In addition to the exciting bands, great lodging and ski deals are available. The following is the music and event schedule for Sunsation:

In addition to the free outdoor performances, each weekend of Sunsation offers a variety of activities in a party atmosphere complete with outdoor barbecues, drink specials and, of course, the Eenie Weenie Bikini Contest. Located in the East Village, this year’s bikini contest is sure to be memorable as men and women compete with their most creative costumes for great prizes. Ski and stay packages start at $82 per person, per night based on quad occupancy in a two-bedroom condominium. Restrictions may apply.
