Donnelly, ID — (News Release) — Tamarack Resort will run its lifts through May 20 providing skiers and riders with Idaho’s longest ski season with great spring specials.

Thirty-two feet of snow has fallen on Tamarack’s 7,700 foot summit since the resort opened Thanksgiving week. Fantastic snowfall, expert grooming, 140 acres of new advanced terrain, a new high-speed quad, and expanded lodging opportunities contributed to a spectacular second season.

Tamarack will be open every day with all lifts operating until Sunday, April 23. Tamarack will be open weekends only April 29-May 20.

Tamarack’s season finale will be on Saturday, May 20. Activities will include Race & Ace, a ski and golf competition presented by Fish Marketing. For Race & Ace event registration and information visit or There will also be discounts for season passholders and spring-time BBQ’s at the base of the mountain.

On April 21—23 Tamarack will host the Intermountain FreeStyle and Tamarack FreeRide Competitions for freeriders to ‘bump & jump’ one more time. On Friday the competition hits the SuperPipe, singles moguls are on Saturday and Sunday.

Tamarack’s lower mountain is starting to see the rebirth of spring with migratory birds returning to Lake Cascade bird sanctuaries adjacent to the resort. Guests are encouraged to take the Summit Express lift and enjoy the spring skiing while viewing the lower mountain and meadow start to come alive.

The snow is still plentiful and is starting to take its spring form affectionately known as ‘corn snow’.

“Corn snow is known for offering the opportunity to ski as easily on-piste and off-piste,” says Ken Rider, director of resort sales. “During this time of year we recommend starting early and finishing by mid-afternoon; follow it up with some revelry while quaffing back a cool one and eating some great food in one of our fine food and beverage establishments. Executive Chef Gary Kucy and our Culinary Team will be preparing some great BBQ fare and other culinary delights.”
