TELLURIDE, Colo. June 28, 2004 — Thanks to new daily nonstop service from Los Angeles (LAX) and an additional flight from Newark to the Telluride region, a Rocky Mountain ski vacation is just a hop, skip and flight away for skiers and riders across the country. Telluride increases its winter jet service by 10 percent with the addition of Continental Airlines’ 50-seat regional jet from LAX and an additional 104-seat, 737-500 flight on Saturday from Newark (EWR) to Montrose (MTJ), a 65 scenic miles from the ski area.

“The additional service makes Telluride more accessible than ever,” said Nick Trakas, director of transportation services for the Telluride Ski Resort (Telluride). “Four major airlines from seven major hub cities fly into the Telluride region, providing our guests with a greater variety of carrier options, connections and departure times from coast to coast.”

Continental’s daily 50-seat regional jet from LAX to MTJ runs Dec. 17-April 3 with reduced service (four days a week) from Jan. 4-Feb. 16. The additional Saturday flight from Newark runs Dec. 25-Jan. 3 and Feb.19-March 26. Continental’s existing 124-seat, 737-300 nonstop service on Saturday (Dec. 18-April 2) combined with the additional Saturday flight creates 228 seats from Newark, enabling more guests to travel to Telluride on peak days.

Telluride offers air access from a total of seven cities on four majorcarriers, including American from Dallas and Chicago; Continental from Los Angeles, Newark and Houston; United and Great Lakes from Denver; and America West from Phoenix.

Ranked as one of the top ten ski resorts in North America by SKI andSkiing, Telluride is an authentic ski town nestled in the breathtaking San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado. This quaint, Victorian-style town is connected to the newer, contemporary Mountain Village by a free gondola. There is no need for a car in Telluride as the gondola serves as free transportation link between both towns.
