Getting There: Sunday River is located six miles north of Bethel, Maine, off Route 2. It’s a three-hour drive from Boston via Interstate 95, and seven hours from NYC.
Prices: Full-day weekend lift ticket: $49 adult, $31 junior (6¿12), kids five and under ski free. Three-day adult pass: $138; five-day, $230.
Lodging: Options for slopeside lodging are the Jordan Grand (207-824-5000) and the Grand Summit (207-824-3500). Nearby Bethel (Chamber of Commerce, 207-824-2282) offers a variety of quaint, more affordable accommodations, including the Sudsbury Inn (207-824-2174).
Food & Drink: Munch on some on-mountain finger food at Sliders or Bumps Pub. Try the Grand Avenue Café in the Jordan Grand for something a bit nicer. In Bethel, the locals are partying at Suds Pub in the basement of the Sudsbury Inn. Top off the Maine experience at Great Grizzly, a steak house with a welcoming, woodsy feel.
