KEYSTONE, CO - (News Release) - Keystone's holiday weekend is going to the dogs. The resort's planning to celebrate with not just one fireworks display, but two (one on Saturday night and then another on Tuesday night) - plus a brand-new dog-friendly happy hour at the Keystone Inn.
It all kicks off Friday, June 30 with the first Happy Yappy Dog Hour on the deck of the pet-friendly Keystone Inn. There'll be free gourmet dog biscuits for the four-legged friends and special treats - like appetizers from the Summit Seafood Company and specialty drinks from the bar - for their adult companions. You could even say that some of the drinks have quite a bite - like the Colorado Bull Dog (Grey Goose, Kahlua, cream, splash of Pepsi), the Chi Wawa (Petron tequila, Grand Marnier, sour mix, lime) and the Chocolate Labrador (Grey Goose vanilla, crème de cocoa dark, 3 olives chocolate vodka served in a cocoa-rimmed glass).
The festivities continue Saturday, July 1 with the Frontier Fair featuring a Mountain Miner petting area, train rides, balloon artists and artisans. Saturday night enjoy a few laughs at the comedy show at the Keystone Pavilion followed by the first fireworks display of the holiday. Sunday hum, sing or march along to your favorite patriotic songs at the National Repertory Orchestra concert in the Pavilion. On the official holiday - Tuesday, July 4 - celebrate our nation's independence with the kids fishing derby, a very festive and colorful (and wildly popular) kids bike parade, free afternoon concerts and the second fireworks display of the weekend.
