PARK CITY, UT (Feb. 4)

- Newly crowned super G world champion Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) can add another accomplishment to her list as she was distinguished Wednesday with the USA TODAY Olympic Athlete of the Week award.

"It's incredible to be honored by such a huge newspaper in America. I've worked really hard this year and am feeling so confident with my skiing, so it's cool to see such a huge publication help me celebrate," Vonn said.

The honor comes on the heels of Vonn's super G and slalom wins last weekend where she tied Tamara McKinney's record for World Cup wins by a U.S. women. According to USA TODAY's article honoring her, Vonn will be up for the award again thanks to her win Tuesday in the super G at World Championships.
