WHISTLER, B.C. – (News Release – Nov. 18, 2007) – Whistler Mountain opened one week early yesterday and over 6000 excited skiers and riders took to the mountain. Four eager locals arrived 16 hours before the lifts opened to ensure they had the first lift up and fresh tracks for the first run in the 07/08 season.
Whistler Mountain has 1,200 acres and 1,821 vertical feet of skiable terrain for skiers and riders. The snowbase is currently 100 centimeters (39 inches).
Blackcomb Mountain will open Thursday, November 22, Whistler Blackcomb’s official opening day. Guests should be aware that early season conditions do exist on and off-piste and caution should be exercised.
