Woodbury first to open in New England for 2002-2003 Season

Woodbury, Conn. Oct 24, 2002 – Woodbury Ski Area, a three-lift area boasting 300 feet of vertical, opened its beginner tow Thursday night.

Woodbury thus beat arch-rival Killington by about 15 hours to become the first New England ski area to open this season.

Killington plans to open at 9:00 am on Friday, with two lifts and three runs, including top to bottom terrain on Great Northern and an early season terrain park in Upper East Glade.

Loveland, Colorado, opened last Thursday, Oct. 17.
