During the 2018-’19 ski season, Jackson Lebsack was hired for the appropriately titled Ski.com Epic Dream Job, a trip that literally took him around the globe to ski at some of the best locations on earth.
After a quick stop in Vermont, Lebsack spent the first part of his trip exploring Madonna di Campiglio, Italy, St. Anton, Austria, Verbier, Switzerland, and Courchevel, France. Despite a delay in St. Anton due to historic snowfall, he was still able to ski hundreds of vertical meters in Europe, and document highlights from each stop.
Madonna di Campiglio, Italy
Lebsack’s first time skiing in Europe started in the Italian Dolomites, where the massive walls of rock were unlike anything he had ever seen. Between the great skiing, incredible food, and an ice concert, it’s apparent that Madonna di Campiglio set the bar high for the rest of the trip.
St. Anton am Arlberg, Austria
What’s the only thing better than catching an iconic European skiing destination during a historic snow cycle that dropped meters of snow in a few days? According to Lebsack, the après in St. Anton and the history of skiing in the region rivals and even surpasses the powder days. With those accolades, there are always at least two reasons to check out the Arlberg, no matter the snow conditions.

Verbier, Switzerland
Verbier’s challenging terrain, rad views, and endless cheese knocked the socks off Lebsack. And the fact that he was there for another snow dump didn’t hurt his impression of the pace. Swiss culture is unlike anywhere else in Europe, and the terrain in Verbier is perhaps the best off-piste in the world. Lebsack’s biggest score? Following in the tracks of a local who knows how to navigate the terrain to get to the goods.

Courchevel, France
Part of Les Trois Vallées, Courchevel plays a major role in making the largest interconnected ski resort in the world something special. Like everywhere else in the Alps, the skiing there is top-notch, with well over 300 miles of skiable runs. But the thing that sets Courchevel apart is the amount of luxury available to those who can afford it, as well as activities that don’t necessarily involve skis. Was Lebsack impressed? Definitely.
