Picture this. You get to your all-time favorite mountain and you’re ready to snap on those skis and start your pow-filled day. You’ve got your ride-or-die ski pals with you and your GoPro ready to capture it all because you know it’s going to be one of those trips you’ll want to remember for a long time.
After countless runs, attempts (and fails) at new tricks, and more than enough selfies on the chairlift, the day is winding down. You start to see the sky transition from a blue-bird day to violet and burnt orange night, as the spotlights turn on, lighting the way for your last trip down the mountain. You take your time on the way down because you just don’t want it to end. The love of skiing—that free-feeling, the time with friends and family, meeting new people, and the camaraderie between everyone who has the same enthusiasm and love for it as you do.
Even though you have to leave and get back to the grind first thing in the morning, you know you’ll probably dream of snow and are already looking forward to it. Plus, you and your friends snagged that footage you plan on watching and reliving the fun!
You’re not ready to be done with your adventure.
That’s when you realize what’s at the core of your adventures and what makes them so intoxicating. Sure, it’s the obvious – the wind against your face as you zip down, or the view from the lift on a clear day. But it’s seeing your friends’ frozen and smiling faces, the people you meet during the highly anticipated apres-ski, and the unspoken connection you feel amongst fellow stoke-seekers that you remember. It makes you thankful for the first time you decided to try skiing (or thankful you were put on skis before you could walk).
That sense of being around your people and having a common love for all things adventure doesn’t have to stop once you leave the mountain, especially if you’re part of a community that lives and breathes it. Well, there’s an open spot around the Campfire. It’s time for you to join us.
Campfire is your go-to app when it comes to connecting with other skiers and outdoor adventure lovers. Once you create your own channel, you’ll officially be part of a community that is passionate about integrating the outdoors into their daily lives and filming it along the way! You’ll have the chance to watch ski vlogs and short films, see what other ski areas are like across the country, and upload your own content all for free with the Outside Campfire app. We welcome you in advance.
To get you started, we’re looking for the best powder day footage to feature on our Instagram and skimag.com. Whether that’s nailing your first trick, mastering your favorites, or just enjoying the day on the mountain, we want to see your videos. Three winners will have their video featured across Ski Magazine’s website and win a pair of brand new skis from Rossignol, Nordica, or Armada along with some rad gear from Zeal Optics, the Outside Shop, and BUFF.
Keep your adventures going and head on over to skimag.com/contest to create your Campfire channel, join the community, and upload your best powder day footage. Who knows? Maybe yours will be our next featured video.
