Starting in the dog days of July and feeding into September, ski movie teasers from production companies big and small start to trickle out online. They build the stoke for the ski movies, which build the stoke for the winter. Needless to say, by the time the chairlifts start spinning, your stoke meters should be in the red.

We’ll update this page as trailers come out, so add the Reel Deal to your bookmarks bar and your RSS feeds. See you at the movies.

Warren Miller’s ‘Timeless’ presented by Volkswagen

The 70th feature film from Warren Miller Entertainment looks to be full of non-stop ski and snowboard action around the globe, and wouldn’t expect anything less. With a mix of skiing legends like Glen Plake, Aurélien Ducroz, and Jess McMillian mixed in with a number of first-time appearances from pros Connery Lundin, Jaelin Kauf, and more, “Timeless” promises to be one of the best films of the year.

The National Tour kicks off around the country on October 23, 2019. Check out when the WME Circus is coming to your town on the company’s website.

Faction Skis: “The Collective”

Verbier, Switzerland-based Faction Skis has one of the best pro-athlete teams in skiing. With names like John Collinson, Kelly Sildaru, Elisabeth Gerritzen, and Candide Thovex in the mix, anything the Faction team does is going to be fun to watch. That’s why we’re stoked to see that the brand is releasing its second feature-length ski film “The Collective” this fall.

Created in conjunction with Red Bull Media House, “The Collective” is sure to be a thrill for anyone who enjoys watching people who are really good at skiing do their thing. With a team that is primarily park and freeride oriented, fans can expect to see some antics that will make jaws drop, as well as high-quality cinematography thanks to the production quality of Red Bull Media House.

“The Collective” will premier in Paris and Salt Lake City on October 10, 2019, and then go on tour worldwide. Faction wants to make it as easy as possible for college organizations, ski clubs, and other local communities to host their own screenings of “The Collective.” If you are interested, check out the details on Faction’s Website. If you can’t wait until the film comes to your city, watch the brand’s first feature film, “This is Home,” right now.

Shred House Productions: ‘The Mountains are Calling’

Dane Tudor and Simon Hillis are two of the best freeride skiers to come out of the Pacific Northwest of North America in recent memory. Tudor made a name for himself very quickly after a few segments with Poor Boyz Productions and Teton Gravity Research, as well as competing on the Freeride World Tour. Hillis had a breakout segment last season in Warren Miller Entertainment’s ‘Face of Winter’ and is likely to keep rising as the winters continue to roll on. “The Mountains are Calling” promises to take an introspective look at what drives skiers to do their thing, and is sure to be full of great skiing. The full film will be released online on Nov. 15, 2019.

CK9 Studios: ‘OVER TIME’

If there is one person who has truly led the charge of blending freestyle tricks and big mountain lines, it is Sammy Carlson. The athlete has produced a number of great edits over the past few seasons, and now, by teaming up with CK9 Studios, this is going to be the best one yet. The full feature is set to be online sometime this fall.

Blank Collective: ‘The 7 Stages of Blank’

The mostly Canadian crew that makes up the Blank Collective decided to follow last year’s “Before Blank,” which explores the crew’s beginnings on skis, with a film that looks at what feeds the crew’s self-described “insanity.” We’re especially looking forward to the powder segments with Alexi Godbout and Josh Daiek filmed during the storm of a lifetime near Lake Tahoe. “The 7 Stages of Blank” will premiere in Whistler on September 28th, and be available online on October 22nd.

The Blondes: ‘Dream Job’

What promises to be the funniest ski movie of the year, “Dream Job” follows the trials and tribulations of comedian Katie Burrell as she follows Girls Do Ski founder Leah Evans and Christina “Lusti” Lustenberger around the mountains of British Columbia. “Dream Job” will premiere September 25, 2019, in Vancouver, Canada.

Strictly: ‘Welcome’

After getting their first full feature film out the door last year under the title “Strictly Business,” this Colorado-based crew looks to up-the-ante with “Welcome.” The movie will premiere on October 5, 2019, in Boulder, Colo., and then be free online not long after.

Tanner Hall: ‘In the Meantime’

One of the greatest skiers of all time, Tanner Hall knows how to entertain. And his latest project, “In the Meantime,” promises to do exactly that. Hall even skipped the Freeride World Tour stop in Verbier this season to finish the project. We hope to see the whole movie online in October.

Matchstick Productions: ‘Return to Send’er’

Taking a step back from last year’s “All In,” Matchstick Productions (MSP) cut down their annual athlete roster to focus almost entirely on four dudes for this year’s “Return to Send’er.” Starring Mark Abma, Karl Fostvedt, Sam Kuch, and Logan Pehota, the trailer promises non-stop, progressive big-mountain skiing action with plenty of humor and glam rock mixed in.

Filmed mostly in British Columbia with some stops at Squaw Valley, Sun Valley, and Jackson Hole, “Return to Send’er” won’t have the park, urban, or European segments that some of the other movies of 2019 might have, but it will have some amazingly large cliff drops and plenty of powder skiing. We’d expect nothing less from this storied production company.

The World Premiere of “Return to Send’er” is scheduled for September 14, 2019, in Crested Butte, Colo., followed by a lengthy international tour. Find out more on MSP’s website.

Level 1 Productions: ‘Romance’

The twentieth feature-length ski film from Denver, Colo. based Level 1 Productions promises to be two things: A) awesome, and B) the final annual movie from the company. While we’re certainly bummed about the end of an era, we’re pretty hyped about this flick. The trailer for “Romance” promises more creative skiing in both urban and backcountry environments, plus a healthy dose of vintage footage from 1999 forward.

Starring  the usual Level 1 suspects, including Sämi Ortlieb, Chris Logan, Parker White, Keegan Kilbride, KC Deane, Wiley Miller, Will Wesson, Tanner Rainville, Khai Krepela, Will Berman, Lucas Wachs, Duncan Adams, McRae Williams, Phil Casabon, Tom Wallisch, Mike Hornbeck, Thayne Rich, and a slew of other characters, “Romance” is going to be a must-see. The film will premiere in Denver on September 21, 2019, before going on tour.

Also, if you’re into modern ski history, Level 1 launched a podcast to explore each of the company’s films and the progression of “new-school” skiing since 1999. Called “Level 20,” each podcast episode correlates with the release of each Level 1 film on the internet. Check out more info about the podcast on Level 1’s website.

Teton Gravity Research: ‘WINTERLAND’

Teton Gravity Research, or TGR for short, dropped the trailer for “WINTERLAND” on July 30, 2019. Starting off with vintage footage from idyllic European and North American locations—or perhaps “vintage-looking” footage—as well as a number of rowdy big mountain lines and generous airtime provided by backcountry booters, “WINTERLAND” promises to be a raucous good time for anyone who likes watching pro skiers and snowboarders do what they do best: shred.

“I think everyone can relate to ‘WINTERLAND’ because even though it’s not one specific place, it’s more of a state of mind,” said Jon Klaczkiewicz, the Head of Production at TGR, in a press release. “Beyond showcasing the incredible action our athletes continue to astound us with, ‘WINTERLAND’ really embodies the magic that all skiers and snowboarders feel when they find themselves in the right place at the right time when everything comes together. The experience is shaped by the lore and legends of a place, fleeting moments of epic conditions, and the unique style of the individual. Really excited to share this one!”

Starring TGR staples Nick McNutt, Tim Durtschi, Griffin Post, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Ian McIntosh, Sam Smoothy, Angel Collinson, John Collinson, Todd Ligare, Colter Hinchliffe, Jeremy Jones, and 13-year-old Kai Jones, “WINTERLAND” will premiere on September 14, 2019 in Teton Village, Wyo., followed by an international tour. You can find more information and tour dates on TGR’s website.
