Cody Townsend, Chris Rubens, Kevin Hjertaas make a quick strike on a big line.

For the sixth episode of Cody Townsend's three-year ski mountaineering project, he drove to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada, to make quick work of a very aesthetic couloir visible from Lake Louise Ski Resort.

Climbing the Aemmer

Townsend and Rubens make the ascent of the Aemmer.

Townsend is joined by Chris Rubens and Kevin Hjertaas for this adventure, as the two grew up in the area and have extensive knowledge of Banff National Park, and filmer Bjarne Salen. Despite the terrifically sketchy drive, a start in the dark, and a 13 kilometer-long approach, nothing goes wrong and the crew skis the Aemmer like the pros they are.
