New England’s newest ski area had another successful season in 2006-2007. Thanks to 100% fan-gun snowmaking technology, Crotched opens big and opens fast – their goal is to be 100% open before anyone else, if not necessarily the first to open. This aggressive approach to snowmaking and even the technology are reflective of the Midwestern roots of the company that revived the mountain a few years ago. The 875-foot vertical drop and 17 trails are served by two fixed-grip quads, a triple and a double, and a Magic Carpet surface lift for a total of about 75 acres of skiable terrain…and more is on the way.
