The Winter X Games is the premier winter action sports event in the world, featuring more than 250 athletes from across the globe competing for medals and prize money in the following sports: Moto X, Ski, Snowboard and Snowmobile. Winter X Games VIII will air domestically on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC Sports, while ESPN International will distribute the Games worldwide. EXPN.com will provide extensive online coverage.

This year’s Winter X Games is breaking new ground on other fronts. The competition schedule has been modified to incorporate new enhancements to the event, most notably daily live telecasts. As a result, Winter X Games VIII will feature first-time nighttime events to go along with the live telecasts on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC Sports January 24-27.

In addition, SportsCenter, ESPN’s daily news program, will report live from Aspen/Snowmass on Monday, January 26 and Tuesday, January 27. Each of those nights, the 11 p.m. ET SportsCenter will contain live event coverage from Winter X Games VIII, plus highlights/news segments hosted by Linda Cohn.

All Winter X Games VIII events will be held at Buttermilk, an Aspen/Snowmass area mountain. There are four ski areas in the Aspen/Snowmass area – Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk – all operated by Aspen Skiing Company.
