For the last two seasons, pro skier Josh Daiek has been attempting to connect multiple ski tours into one long, grueling epic traverse. This year, he toured from his home mountain, Kirkwood Mountain Resort, and summited five different peaks—covering nearly 20 miles and climbing 10,000 vertical feet. No one has ever linked all these summits together in a single day, not to mention in the middle of winter when the daylight hours are short. It was part slog fest, part rowdy lines, one nasty fall-and-die exposed face, lots of hippy pow turns, and a grand finale of hop turns down a couloir in the pitch dark off Stevens Peak.
