WATERVILLE VALLEY, NH, – December 11, 2008 –

New Hampshire’s Waterville Valley Ski Area and Zipcar, the Cambridge-based provider of cars on demand by the hour or day, are teaming up to offer Boston skiers and snowboarders an easier, more affordable way to hit the slopes this season. When skiers arrive at Waterville Valley in a Zipcar – including all passengers in the vehicle – they will receive a $15 discount off adult or college student lift tickets that day, as well as learn to ski or snowboard packages. Zipcar users can also tap into discounted rates on ski or snowboard rentals, offered at $27 for a full day.

In addition, Zipcar and Waterville Valley will hit college campuses this January with a lift ticket deal for full-time college students staying in the city during school break. College students who carpool to Waterville Valley on a non-holiday weekday in a Zipcar can purchase lift tickets that day for just $30 and receive free ski or snowboard rentals. Proof of full-time status and college ID will be required.

With gas, insurance and 180 miles included in the price of a reservation, Zipcar provides Boston city dwellers with affordable access to a variety of vehicles whenever they need one, to run errands or to visit friends and family. It’s also a convenient, smart way to get to the slopes with friends when the snow hits.

“Waterville Valley is excited to pair up with Zipcar to encourage the environmentally friendly practice of car sharing from our Boston market”, says Debbie Moore, Director of Marketing at Waterville Valley. “With Zipcar’s easy technology, when members hear it’s a powder day up north, they can reserve a car online, pick it up and be on the slopes in roughly two hours”.

According to Dan Curtin, General Manager of Zipcar Boston, “Zipcar has more than 800 vehicles available within just a short walk to students at colleges and universities in the Boston area. We encourage all students 21 and over to embrace this convenient, cost-effective transportation alternative, and to get out of the city and onto the slopes this winter.”
