One thing Goode, which got its start building carbon-fiber water skis, has always known how to do is build a super light sk So for backcountry skiers, this company should be on the radar. The Satire has the same sidecut as the new Sorcerer, but its core is 25 percent lighter. The core is made from a special foam stitched with Kevlar, which aims to give it the responsiveness and performance usually found in wood-core skis. The Satire employs Goode’s Rising Rocker profilea gradual full-length bend intended to make the ski buoyant, smooth-riding and loose-feeling in powder and crud. Goode builds its wider skis with progressively softer flexes for improved powder performance. A carbon-fiber torsion-box construction should give it plenty of snap.
