Cool Factor: Salomon’s Mach 2 comes packed with technology like Autofit Thermastat foam which molds to your head’s shape through use, and Thermicfit X-static, which uses silver to regulate your head’s temperature.
Extra, Extra: The Mach 2 helmet should appeal to the adventure-seeking skier. The Mach 2 Racing is an upgraded version ($203 SRP) with a sleeker look.
Word in the Shop: “We felt we belonged in the helmet business because we have experience in all of the aspects of making a helmet; molding and shell design from ski boots, foam and fit design from our boots, and protection and safety issues that come with binding construction,” said product manager Ted Warlaw. “Salomon’s detail oriented product development carries into the helmet line,” he added.
